Together with the new high-speed UHS-II memory cards, Transcend has released a card reader that supports such cards and works via USB 3.1 – Transcend RDF9. It will avoid any speed limits while copying files.
Support 4 types of cards
The card reader is characterized by a rather restrained appearance. The case is made of plastic: the lower part is matte, the upper one is glossy. Therefore, during operation, it can collect dust and fingerprints. On the front panel of the card reader there are slots for SD, microSD, CompactFlash cards.
At the same time, a USB connector and a slot for MemoryStick drives are hidden on the rear panel. It is noteworthy that all the connectors are signed, so it will be difficult to plug something in the wrong place, even if you are working with a card reader for the first time.
Read speed up to 260MB/s
The maximum read speed is 260MB/s, while the write speed is kept at 190MB/s. Simply put, photos and data from a memory card are copied literally in the blink of an eye, after which they can be uploaded to the cloud or directly go to image processing. However to fully unlock the potential of new memory cards, you will also need a computer or laptop with a USB 3.1 interface.
If you do not plan to use UHS-II memory cards or your computer does not support USB 3.1, then you should pay attention to the related Transcend RDF8 card reader, which does not support these interfaces and costs a little less.
