The smartphone was released in January 2016. I bought it in autumn 2018. Everything was good for about a year; I was happy with everything. Then there was not enough memory. Another six months later, problems with the front camera and microphone started. In November 2020, I bought a new phone. If it were not for the microphone and memory issues, I would have kept using it. Considering how carefully I treat my devices, I expected 3 years of use. This time, I decided to pay an extra €56 and get a Samsung; after all, my previous Samsung served me for 5 years and was destroyed by my little sister. The Redmi 3 gave up quickly, but I forgive it for that price))) Price, battery, screen, doesn’t lag. Not enough memory (not enough for apps), front camera (WhatsApp, all contacts complained), built-in microphone (broke by 10/2020, had to use speakerphone), speaker quality is not very good, when I watched videos everyone said the sound quality was terrible. In short, the purchasing managers of all the stores cheated and purchased from China and brought to Ukraine a version for the EU, where CDMA is not used. In short, on the back of the box, if it says IMEI1 and IMEI2 without MEID1, it means the phone is GSM+GSM, if MEID1 is listed third on the box, then CDMA is supported. Buy it without a second thought. For its price, the perfect phone. You can hear the other person very well, and they can hear you just as well. It has an absolutely incredible battery!!! Without internet or Wi‑Fi, just lots of calls — 4 days and still 10% left. I changed the firmware myself in 5 minutes using the 4 PDA website and now have a fully multilingual interface. Everything works exactly as it should. The phone is incredibly light, so it constantly feels like it’s about to fly out of your hands. A silicone bumper solves this problem (I got one for free as a purchase bonus). No. Not at all. Xiaomi Redmi 3 is rightfully considered one of the best smartphones for little money. Its stylish metal body contains a powerful 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor (2 GHz), a good 13-megapixel camera with f / 2.0 aperture, equipped with fast phase detection autofocus, and a capacious 4100 mAh battery. Given the presence of the Adreno 405 graphics accelerator, HD screen resolution and 2 GB of RAM, any applications and games will run on such a “minced meat”. At the same time, you can completely forget about charging — the built-in battery provides up to 3 days of battery life for the gadget. A nice bonus from Chinese engineers is the presence of an infrared port through which you can control home appliances.
Display
The matrix of the smartphone is made using IPS technology. There is no air gap between it and the protective glass. The display itself has a typical HD resolution (1280x720 pixels) and a high pixel density (294 ppi), which is very good for a low-cost solution.
Memory
16 GB of internal memory is allocated for storing user data, a quarter of which is occupied by the Android 5.1.1 operating system with the MIUI 7 shell rolled on top. The possibility of expanding the memory exists, but you have to choose — either a second SIM card or a flash drive. In fact, this is the only drawback of the model.
battery life
Xiaomi has significantly upgraded the Xiaomi Redmi 2 phone. According to its assurances, the third version works by as much as 80% longer, which is due to the optimization of resource consumption and the use of a high-capacity battery. This is not at all a characteristic feature for low-cost models, which set a significant pace for the growth of the segment of inexpensive smartphones in the future.
