The Chinese brand Xiaomi offers a budget-friendly robot vacuum with an optimal balance of price and features. The device has a suction power of 5000 Pa, allowing it to effectively collect not only fine dust but also larger debris and pet hair from various surfaces. There are 4 modes to optimize the process: quiet, standard, strong, and turbo. In addition to regular dry cleaning, the gadget can perform wet cleaning using a simple microfiber cloth that is automatically moistened with water from a tank.

The wet cleaning feature employs a Y-shape mopping trajectory that imitates manual floor washing, moving back-and-forth and side-to-side, which helps in better stain removal. The electronically controlled water tank has a capacity of 260 ml and supports 3 levels of water flow intensity, while the dry waste container is increased to 520 ml, reducing the frequency of emptying.

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C is equipped with an advanced LDS system (laser lidar) with a 360° view, quickly and accurately mapping rooms even in the dark, allowing the robot to choose the most efficient paths without repeated passes. Its intelligent sensor system helps avoid obstacles, prevents falls from stairs, and can overcome thresholds up to 20 mm high. Control is handled through the Xiaomi Home app, which offers features like zonal cleaning, virtual walls, scheduling, and selecting specific rooms for cleaning. The robot also supports voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
