Thermoplastic helmets

 

— the main advantage of plastic is its low cost; in terms of strength, this material is inferior to fiberglass and, especially, carbon fiber, however, with some tricks, thermoplastic products can be created with very high protection rates. The unequivocal disadvantages of this material are a rather large weight, as well as a tendency to wear out with use (due to temperature changes and UV radiation). Because of this, most plastic helmets are in the low-cost category.
