Fibreglass / carbon

— the shell is made of fibreglass, supplemented with one or more layers of carbon. For more information about each of the materials, see the relevant paragraphs, here we recall that fibreglass, with good strength, is relatively inexpensive, but has a lot of weight, and carbon is very strong and light, but its price is high. Accordingly, carbon inserts perform two functions: they strengthen the helmet and slightly reduce its weight; and due to fibreglass, the product is cheaper than pure carbon (albeit heavier).
