The illusion of three-dimensionality is based on the fact that the right and left eyes receive a slightly different image when viewed; accordingly, to shoot such a video, the camera must be able to shoot the scene simultaneously from two different points. In some models, a pair of lenses is used for this, in others, a special adapter for traditional format optics is used.
