Webcam function

— the ability to work as a webcam — a device connected to a computer and broadcasting a video signal directly to it. Most often, such a signal is transmitted to the Internet — for example, during a Skype video call or online streaming (hence the name). Having this feature eliminates the need to purchase a separate webcam, and traditional camcorders often provide more features (for example, better zoom). On the other hand, they are larger and not as comfortable.
