— the original lithium-ion technology, which provides for filling the battery with liquid electrolyte (unlike Li-Pol — see the relevant paragraph). At one time, this technology was a real breakthrough: it made it possible to create compact, lightweight and at the same time very capacious batteries. Modern Li-Ion batteries are easy to use (the main operating parameters are regulated by a built-in controller), have a high charge rate and are practically not subject to the “memory effect” (reduction in capacity when charging an incompletely discharged battery). Their main disadvantage is considered to be sensitivity to high and low temperatures, but in fact this moment turns out to be significant mainly in severe frosts — and in such weather, radio-controlled models are used extremely rarely. So the low prevalence of such batteries nowadays is associated solely with the promotion and reduction in cost of more advanced lithium polymer technology.

Recall that the use of lithium batteries (including this type) is possible only in those models where such a possibility was originally provided. However, most modern r / y models fall into this category.
