The vertex float 15ft is a light and well balanced long float rod with a modern mixed cork and flattened eva handle. The extra reach combined with the fast tip action provides excellent line management and float control but has enough power in the lower sections to handle bigger fish. Glass tips are often seen as a good general purpose tip, they are typically softer and offer less resistance to taking fish which helps to prolong the bite. Carbon tips are much lighter than glass and generally crisper in action, this makes a noticeable difference to rod balance and recovery when casting. All tips have accurate test curves and feature the same Hi-Viz Red painted tops. These standard tips fit the majority of current and previous Drennan feeder rods with the exception of the Acolyte range.  

DESCRIPTION We have updated our range of standard 3.5mm feeder tips to offer both carbon and glass in the majority of popular test curves. Paired with a compact float fish reel, the rods tends to sit up in the hand at an angle above horizontal, making them a joy to fish with all day. They have been designed principally for reel lines from 2lb 8oz to 4lb+, which is roughly 0.12mm to 0.18mm diameter monofilament. The blank feels very rigid and has a light, crisp action with little or no bounce for really excellent line and float control. At the same time, the tip action is soft enough to act as a gentle shock absorber, cushioning the strike and preventing hook pulls. The Acolyte Pro Whip 800 is designed for speed fishing and long line to hand when bagging roach, dace and bleak on venues such as the River Wye, Thames, Trent etc... The whip is approximately 265g and yet ultra strong. The whip comes as standard with a solid flick tip, but it also comes supplied with a PTFE bush and PTFE plug to allow you to elasticate the number two section. Each section is numbered to allow the angler to know how long they are fishing and all of the joints are reinforced for extra durability and strength.
