Balance discs
Disc
— a device in the form of a characteristic round disc filled with air. The disc is inflated to such an extent that it noticeably (but not to the floor itself) sags under the user's body. Due to this, an unstable surface is created, and numerous muscles must be used to maintain balance on it. In addition, one side of the disc is usually complemented by a set of spikes or other protrusions that create a massage effect. The balancing discs can be used both standing and sitting; if you wish, you can even engage with such equipment while sitting at a table in the workplace. In general, such equipment helps to train coordination and the vestibular apparatus, strengthen the main muscles of the body, as well as correct posture and prevent problems with it. There are different disc exercises designed to develop different skills and muscle groups; these nuances, as well as contraindications for use (they also exist) should be clarified in special sources.
Also, note that some manufacturers and sellers call balancing discs "pads". This is not entirely true — the pad is still different in shape and application; see the relevant paragraph for more details.
