Grill-smokers
prices on 14 models— the combination of a barbecue grill with a smokehouse. For more information about both, see the relevant help items. And such combined models are usually barbecue grills with additional equipment, which allows them to be used for smoking products. The specific design of such devices may be different.
So, the simplest version of the grill-smoker is a barrel-shaped firebox of a vertical layout, equipped with a grate and a lid. When loading firewood or coals, such a device works as a grill, and if you “charge” wood chips into it and tightly cover the lid, the product turns into a smokehouse. Such models are the most compact, moreover, they can be made not only stationary (see "Design"), but also collapsible; however, you can do one thing at the same time in them — either fry food on the grill or smoke it.
More bulky, but also more functional, are stationary products equipped with two or even three working chambers at once — and, accordingly, capable of performing several functions simultaneously. In this case, the largest firebox is usually responsible for the function of the grill, and the smoking chamber can have different sizes and shapes. So, in two-chamber models, it is usually small and often can also be used as an auxiliary grill; but in three-chamber designs, a vertical container of a fairly solid capacity is usually installed, often intended only for smoking.
