Monochrome display
— determines if the handset has a single-colour display. Such a display will not necessarily be exactly black and white — dark numbers (and other characters) can be displayed on a different background, for example, orange or blue. Monochrome screens are not as functional as colour ones (see the relevant paragraph), but they are quite capable of handling almost all the key features for a phone — notifications of various events, displaying numbers, etc.; however, they are much cheaper.
