Radiotelephones with walkie talkie mode

Walkie-talkie mode

— possibility of voice communication between two (or more) handsets directly, bypassing the base. This mode can be a convenient replacement for intercom (see "Features") in situations where none of the interlocutors can constantly sit in one place at the base. The disadvantage of the walkie-talkie mode is that the involved handsets "fall out" of work and cannot receive external calls.
