— a pod is a single-serve paper filter that contains pre-measured coffee, typically packaged in sealed bags for prolonged storage. Making a cup of coffee from a pod is very simple and convenient: just insert it into the coffee maker, start the program, and dispose of the used filter when finished. However, this option is not widely used in built-in coffee makers since they can easily accommodate ground coffee and even a coffee grinder for beans, providing more opportunities for experimentation and customization of taste. Moreover, ground and whole bean coffee are more cost-effective per cup than using pods.
