Initially, this type of installation might not seem very convenient for parents as it makes it challenging for them to see the baby, particularly from the front seats. However, it's crucial to emphasize that the youngest babies, in their first months of life, should be transported in this manner. This is because their spine, including the neck region, is not yet sufficiently developed. If a baby faces forward, sudden braking can cause the head to jerk forward sharply, leading to potential serious injuries. Installing the car seat against the direction of movement ensures reliable head support in such situations.

Therefore, rear-facing is the standard option for seats in the 0+ weight group (age range 1 – 12 months), but it can also be used in group 1 models (8 months to 4 years). In terms of specific age, it is recommended that children should be driven with their backs forward at least up to one year of age.
