This allows not only to increase the overall battery life, but also to reduce interruptions for charging: while one of the batteries is working in the tool, the second one can be charged. Thanks to this convenience, this configuration option is extremely popular, and most modern saws with batteries are sold with two batteries in the kit.
If the saw is powered by two batteries (see "Functions"), then such equipment is the minimum that allows you to use the tool "out of the box" without buying batteries. The possibilities described above are not discussed in such cases.
