Mounting and traction mechanisms
Mounting and traction mechanism
— the specificity of mounting and traction mechanisms (MTM) is the absence of pulleys and drums in the design. The movement of the rope is carried out using a system of levers, the drive is, usually, also manual lever. The cable or rope in such a device is passed through, and during operation, the MTM, in fact, pulls it through itself. Also note that such units are designed to move goods mainly in horizontal and inclined planes (unlike winches and hoists).MTMs are used in construction, dismantling, rescue work, etc. At the same time, this is a rather rare type of device for working with loads — for a number of reasons, more traditional hoists and winches are more popular. Specifically for MTM, a lever winch can be a good alternative — see the relevant paragraph.
