Lever hoists

— a hoist (of any type) is a lifting device using a chain and equipped with a built-in mechanism that reduces the force required to work (muscular effort of the user or electric motor traction). The presence of this mechanism is one of the main differences between a hoist and a winch: if in winches the force (with rare exceptions) is transmitted directly to the drum, then in hoists it is through a kind of “gear reducer”. The second difference is the use of chains (winches are equipped with cables or belts). To further increase efficiency, a movable block is also often supplied in the design or delivery of the hoist, but this moment is just not mandatory.Different types of hoists differ just in the features of the "reducer". And in lever models, as the name implies, the user's muscular effort is transmitted to this mechanism due to the lever, which must be swung back and forth during operation; the special design of the mechanism at the same time ensures the rotation of the pulley in only one, "working" direction. Lever devices are often more user-friendly than "regular" hand hoists, in which you have to pull the chain. However, models from this category have a serious drawback: the lever is located directly on the body, and the user must be close to the hoist. Considering that the hoist is often suspended from the ceiling or simply at a considerable height, this can make work difficult, if not impossible. That is why lever models nowadays are produced much less than traditional manual ones.
