Trimmers with bottom engine
Engine from below
— location of the engine in the lower (front) part of the trimmer bar, in close proximity to the working part. The main and, in fact, the only advantage of this arrangement is that in order to transfer rotation to the nozzle, it is not necessary to pass the thrust through the entire rod (as with the top placement). On the other hand, during operation, the user has to move from side to side not only the nozzle, but also the motor installed on it. With high power and, accordingly, the mass of the motor, this becomes difficult. Therefore, the lower location is found exclusively in low-power electric trimmers — in them, the engines are light and compact enough so as not to create any particular inconvenience. And if a battery is used for power (see the relevant paragraph), it is usually placed at the rear of the boom, which allows you to somewhat balance the front side of the unit with a nozzle and an electric motor.
