Inflatable mattresses with built-in pump

— the presence in the mattress of a pump built directly into the shell. This feature is found almost exclusively in recreation models (see "Type"). The built-in device for pumping can be either mechanical (in the form of a special compartment with a set of valves, pressed when working with the foot), or electric (in the form of a module powered from a socket, usually built into the end of the shell). General features of mechanical and electrical units are detailed in the "Pump included" list; here we note that mechanical built-in pumps are simpler, cheaper, and therefore are more common, while electric ones are more convenient to use. As for the built-in design, it is convenient for several points at once. Firstly, such a pump eliminates unnecessary fuss with hoses — for pumping, you just need to adjust the valves or connect the power. Secondly, the unit always remains at hand, you can lose it only with the mattress. Thirdly, when folded, mattresses with this feature take up less space than similar models with separate pumps. In addition, the reverse mode for quick air release, which can be provided in electric pumps, is most often available in built-in units.
The main disadvantage of such devices is the relatively high cost. In addition, a mechanical built-in pump, if it fails, can make the entire mattress unusable (although electrical units do not have this drawback — their breakdowns rarely lead to depressurization).
