Boat motors with built-in fuel tank

Built-in

— a tank installed directly in the engine (often right under the protective casing). These motors are easier to install than models with external tanks, but the tanks themselves are severely limited in capacity. The fact is that a capacious fuel tank would noticeably affect the dimensions and weight of the entire unit — which is especially critical in light of the fact that many outboard motors involve turning from side to side to provide steering. Therefore, built-in tanks are used only in low-power models that do not have high fuel consumption (and the capacity of such tanks is such that for long trips you also have to take an “external tank” in the form of a can of gasoline with you).
