Reels with automatic line winding

 

— the reel has its own electric motor, which can rotate the spool, winding the line — usually with quite a lot of effort and speed. In addition to making life easier for the angler in general, this feature can also provide other special features, such as automatic reeling to a certain length (automatic reeling is often combined with a built-in line counter — see related paragraph). On the other hand, coils with such a system are complex, expensive and require connection to an external power source, which can cause some inconvenience; and difficulties with manual reeling of fishing line can only arise during sea fishing, where you have to deal with great depths and large prey. Therefore, auto-winding is found mainly among high-end multiplier models (see "Type").
