— the lid on a child's potty ensures hygiene and convenience: it covers the contents from odors, dust, and pets, helps safely transport the potty to the bathroom, and teaches the child the ritual of "closing after yourself," just like an adult toilet. It's especially useful at night by the bed, when visiting others, and in the car, where a closed potty avoids embarrassing the child and those around them. Compared to an open potty, the version with a lid is cleaner and tidier for storage, but requires a bit more thorough cleaning of the hinges and seals; if you need maximum compactness, the lid adds a few centimeters in height, but it provides order and instills a habit of cleanliness from the first days of training.
