In some cases, a visor is indeed much more convenient than a mask: it weighs less, goes up and down easily, has no compatibility issues (whereas a mask needs to be sized to fit a helmet), gives a wider field of view, and does not fog up as much. In addition, such a device is constantly in place, and it can only be lost with a helmet. The main disadvantage of the visor is the loose fit to the face, which can create problems when riding in a blizzard or windy weather, as well as when falling in loose snow.
