Climbing ropes

 

— ropes designed for climbing have a special design and performance characteristics. According to general specialization, two types of such equipment are distinguished — dynamic and static ropes. The first variety is characterized by a rather high elasticity, it is designed mainly for use when climbing mountains and is able to withstand sharp jerks, including the fall of a climber from a point above the point of attachment of the insurance. It is these products that are most popular in classical rock climbing. Static ropes, in turn, are designed for a constant load and relatively mild jerks; they are mainly used in speleology and industrial mountaineering.
