A key feature of all such devices is the presence of autonomous power, usually from a built-in battery. Additionally, many mobile printers support Bluetooth (see "Connection"), which provides extra convenience when working with portable gadgets; however, this feature is not strictly necessary. In any case, these models are mainly intended for situations where it is not possible to use a traditional printer — for example, printing receipts in taxis and tickets in public transport, receipts for postal and courier delivery, etc. Technically, it is quite possible to use a mobile device in a stationary format, but in practice, this is unlikely to be justified: mobile printers generally have more limited functionality, and all else being equal, they are noticeably more expensive than stationary counterparts.
