Plywood saws

— saws for sawing plywood — not figured, as in the case of jigsaws, but ordinary, in straight lines. Plywood sheets are relatively thin and consist of several thin layers of wood laid with fibers in different directions; all this is taken into account in the design of this type of instrument. So, the teeth on plywood saws are small, sometimes without wiring, and their shape is chosen in such a way as to successfully cope with sawing, regardless of the direction of the fibers. The canvas itself is usually quite wide to prevent deformation; outwardly, many of these saws resemble pass saws (see the relevant paragraph), however, they differ in the shape of the front end of the blade — the butt is rounded and reduced to a pointed “nose”, it is this form that is considered optimal, taking into account the purpose. Many of these tools are able to start cutting from the middle of the sheet — due to the presence of additional teeth at the end of the blade.
