— a material similar in practical properties to nylon (see the relevant paragraph): in particular, at a low cost, it is quite safe, strong enough and at the same time soft, suitable for use with non-stick coatings. One of the key differences between silicone and nylon is its resistance to high temperatures — suffice it to say that even baking dishes and coasters for hot dishes can be made from this material. In addition, such a surface is better washed from grease than nylon.
