— futons, or toppers, are called springless mattresses of small thickness (up to 10 cm). These mattresses are mostly used not on their own, but as an addition to another sleeping surface, such as a traditional thick mattress or sofa. With the help of a topper, you can give such a surface new properties — for example, make it softer or harder, provide a memory effect (see "Possibilities"), smooth out bumps on an old worn-out mattress, etc. Most often this is more profitable than changing the main mattress or whole furniture — toppers are relatively inexpensive.
