Waterproof mattress protectors

— products that do not let moisture through. This feature is mainly typical of mattress protectors (see “Type”) — there is simply no need to make an under-mattress pad moisture-resistant.

This feature can be useful even in normal use: waterproofing means that the mattress protector will definitely not let sweat or grease through, so the mattress will remain clean. In some situations, waterproof products are clearly recommended or even mandatory.

Here are some such situations:

— If the sleeper tends to sweat heavily and a regular (non-waterproof) mattress protector is not enough.
— If the product is purchased for a newborn or young child who is not yet able to control urination.
— If the product is purchased for a person experiencing problems with urinary control for medical reasons (nervous disorders, injuries, illnesses).
