— the simplest type of washing machine, designed mainly for use in summer cottages and other places where there is no point or possibility to install an automatic washer. In semiautomatic models, instead of a drum, there is a fixed container, and washing is carried out using an activator — a wheel with blades, which mixes the water with the laundry loaded into it. There are no heaters and pumps for water intake in such devices, so water must be collected (and in some models, drained) manually, and heated separately. A separate centrifuge may be provided for spinning, but not all models have this function. Yes, and the possibilities of washing in semiautomatic machines are more modest, and its quality is lower than in automatic machines. On the other hand, activator models are extremely simple, inexpensive, do not require connection to a water supply system and are unpretentious in terms of water quality. And some of them have a very compact size, making it easy to transport the machine from place to place.
