TFT display

In this case, TFT means a full-fledged colour screen that can display not only text but also pictures (unlike a simpler LED). Such a screen can even be made touch-sensitive and used to control the unit; anyway, it provides more detailed information for a user and, usually, has more features than LED. At the same time, it makes sense to use such displays only in the most advanced machines with an abundance of functions — a relatively simple unit does not need an advanced (and, accordingly, expensive) screen.
