Multimeter

— multi-purpose devices that combine at least two types of measurements (for example, current and voltage, voltage and resistance). However, the set of possibilities is often much wider, such a device can support almost any type of measurement (see "Measurements"). At the same time, the multimeter differs fundamentally from the clamps in that it uses only the contact method of operation, and from the oscilloscope — the impossibility of plotting the signal on the screen. The specific functionality of such devices can differ markedly from model to model — from the simplest testers designed for children's radio club-level circuits to high-end professional devices with an abundance of functions and the highest accuracy.
