— multimeters with the ability to be powered from a conventional 230 V socket; it can be either the only power option or one of the options (along with rechargeable/non chargeable batteries).

Mains power is convenient in two ways: the time of continuous operation is limited only by the presence of voltage in the socket, and the power and functionality of the device can be almost any. On the other hand, such power greatly limits mobility – the ability to use a multimeter directly depends on the availability of sockets and the length of the power cord (or extension cords). Therefore, in general, this is a very rare option, besides, half of the corded models also have the ability to work on rechargeable/non chargeable batteries. The advantages of such versatility are obvious: when mobility is needed, an autonomous power source can be used, and if there are sockets, the device can be powered from them without worrying about operating time and saving battery power (or even recharging it). The specific type of batteries in such combined models can be different – there are both replaceable standard non chargeable batteries (AAA, PP3, etc.) and branded rechargeable batteries.
