Multimeters with current measurement

— current strength is one of the basic electrical parameters. The possibility of measuring it is found in almost all types of measuring instruments (except perhaps oscilloscopes), including in the vast majority of multimeters. And for ticks (see "Device") this function is mandatory by definition. The current strength can be measured both by contact, using probes, and non-contact. The first option is more common, for this the device is connected to the circuit in series; this is not very convenient, because requires breaking the chain. The second method is used in the mentioned ticks and is described in detail in the relevant paragraph; it is more convenient, but less accurate and has a limited scope (intended mainly for thick wires with high currents).
Note that the current can be AC or DC, and each option requires its own measurement mode. Therefore, before buying, be sure to clarify what kind of current the device supports and whether it meets your needs. However, many models are compatible with both types of current.
