Spinning top

— the classic spinning top is a spinning top with a special spinning mechanism. This mechanism is based on a vertical screw rod, which can be raised and lowered using a special handle; when the rod is lowered, the screw engages with a special washer and spins the top. However, most modern toys of this type do not work on the principle of a spinning top, but on the principle of a spinner: they are installed on stands that allow the toy to stand upright even when stationary (whereas the traditional top has a sharp leg and falls on its side when stopped). The walls of such a spinner are usually made transparent, and various interesting devices are located inside — for example, balls jumping during rotation.
