Typically, the option of pre-wetting is available in coffee makers designed for both ground coffee and capsules (see "Used coffee"), although there may be exceptions. This feature can be turned on or off based on the user's preference. Pre-wetting plays a crucial role in fully extracting the taste and aroma of the coffee, resulting in a more intense drink. When it comes to capsules, this process also helps to remove the carbon dioxide used in the packaging of the capsules, which serves to protect the contents from oxidation.
