Facial hydrolates

Hydrolate

— a mild aqueous solution obtained from the distillation of plants, often referred to as floral water. Unlike the classic tonic, hydrolat usually does not contain alcohol or harsh fragrances, making it suitable even for sensitive skin and can be used immediately after washing with gel or foam: it removes residue of cleansers, slightly tones, hydrates, and prepares the skin for the application of serum or cream. Rose, lavender, chamomile, and tea tree hydrolats are often found—each chosen for specific purposes: to soothe irritation, refresh oily skin, soften dry skin. Compared to a regular thermal spray, hydrolat not only refreshes but also provides light care thanks to its plant components, thus it is used as a tonic, a daytime "mist" for the face, and as a gentle means for wiping the body skin after a shower or depilation.
