An advanced 2U rack-mount NAS server with powerful hardware and advanced capabilities for handling intensive workloads, complex IT deployments, and comprehensive virtualization. The compact, shallow-depth case allows for easy installation in tight spaces in offices or AV rooms. A powerful computing platform based on the eight-core Intel Atom C5125 processor provides high performance when working with files, backing up and restoring data, and when used as a file server.

The server supports up to 64 GB of ECC RAM. The TS-855eU runs on the QTS operating system, but can be upgraded to the alternative QuTS hero OS, which uses the ZFS file system to ensure data integrity and protect against changes using WORM technology. Built-in AES-NI encryption and Intel QuickAssist Technology (QAT) reduce processor load when performing data compression, IPsec/SSL cryptography, and other complex computing operations.

Two 2.5GbE network ports with backward compatibility with 1GbE provide fast data transfer and can be combined to increase throughput. Additionally, the device is equipped with four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and two PCIe slots for connecting expansion cards. The disk system includes 8 3.5" ports with the ability to hot-swap HDDs and a wide range of RAID configurations, as well as 2 M.2 2280 (PCIe Gen3 x4) slots for accelerating system operation using SSD caching.
