The model is equipped with a quad-core AMD Ryzen V1500B processor (2.2 GHz) with multitasking support and 8 GB of expandable RAM, which provide high performance when processing large amounts of data. The QNAP TS-873A-8G has 8 slots for 3.5" drives with a maximum capacity of up to 144 TB and hot-swappable storage.

Additional support for M.2 SSD drives with Qtier Technology optimizes file storage speed by automatically moving data between SSDs and HDDs depending on their activity. Internal storage can be configured using various RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60. To ensure high data transfer rates, the server is equipped with two 2.5 GbE ports, four USB ports (one USB-C) and two PCIe Gen 3 slots for installing additional expansion cards with 10 GbE support, wireless adapters and additional SSD drives. The model supports two operating systems: the basic QTS is a universal data management platform, while QuTS hero offers advanced data protection with support for deduplication, compression and verification data integrity.
