Flexible adjustments
With its sleek design, Acer's 34-inch monitor will look good in almost any interior. The round base of the stand looks stylish, although it seems that it is monolithic and motionless. But in reality this is not the case: the screen provides three adjustments - tilt, swivel and change the height.
The Acer CB342CKsmiiphzx case has built-in speakers (two 3 W each), plus there is also a mini-Jack headphone output (3.5 mm). Three ports are offered for video signal transmission: two HDMI and DisplayPort. And there are also three USB connectors with a fast charging function - especially for fueling a smartphone or other mobile gadgets.
Wide screen and excellent visibility
The monitor received an ultra-wide screen with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a high-definition image of 3440 by 1440 pixels. The large width is convenient when browsing the Internet and working with data, because it practically provides as much space as two rectangular models standing side by side.
The display is based on an IPS matrix, which offers decent color reproduction and excellent viewing angles. Another feature is its fast response (4 ms from gray to gray). In addition, the frame rate (75 Hz), which is not the highest by gaming standards, is partly compensated by AMD FreeSync anti-aliasing technology, which eliminates gaps.
The brightness and contrast of the screen are not impressive - respectively 250 cd / m² and 1000: 1. Therefore, the support for HDR declared here is rather “for show” than for a “wow effect” from viewing. Yes, and demanding cinephiles Acer CB342CKsmiiphzx is unlikely to suit: instead of saturated black in subdued light, dark gray is displayed. But if the main scenario is work and some games, then the monitor is able to compete with other professional UltraWide models.
