The design of the model has remained largely unchanged, which makes sense: its recognizable appearance remains one of its main strengths. Aluminum ear cups, the mesh headband finish, and memory foam ear pads create a premium feel that is still hard to find among competitors. New color options have made the look less formal and more versatile. The design does not include folding; the fit remains comfortable, but the weight of 386 g becomes noticeable — prolonged use gradually reveals it.

Musical Magic with an Apple Flavor

The acoustic part is built on a proprietary driver, an upgraded amplifier with an expanded dynamic range, and the Adaptive EQ system. Built-in microphones continuously analyze the fit and automatically adjust the sound. The sound features a warm presentation: the bass is deep and energetic, the mid frequencies retain clarity and detail, and the instruments are confidently positioned in the stereo panorama. One of the key innovations is the support for Lossless audio transmission via USB-C in 24-bit / 48 kHz format without compression. The personalized Spatial Audio technology with head tracking creates an immersive sound stage, making movie watching especially impressive.

Conductors of Silence

The new H2 chip brought an array of smart features. According to Apple, the active noise cancellation system has become up to 1.5 times more effective compared to the previous version. In practice, the headphones confidently handle airplane noise, city hum, and office background. The Adaptive Audio mode automatically adjusts the level of ambient sound penetration, Conversation Awareness lowers playback volume during conversations, Voice Isolation makes voices more distinct during calls, and the Live Translation feature provides near real-time speech translation through Siri.

However, some limitations are still present. Most smart features, including Adaptive Audio, Spatial Audio, and Live Translation, work fully only within the Apple ecosystem. When used with Android, the device primarily becomes a high-quality Bluetooth headset with effective noise cancellation. Moreover, wireless connectivity is limited to AAC and SBC codecs, so Hi-Res audio enthusiasts via Bluetooth may have to look for alternatives. The signature Smart Case remains unchanged, still covering only the ear cups, leaving the headband unprotected.
