Wireless headphones for the most demanding audiophiles

Amiron Wireless became the first Beyerdynamic flagship headphones with the ability to listen to music both over the wire and over the air (thanks to Bluetooth v 4.2). Considering that the German company does not have bad headphones (even if we are talking about $200 models), in the case of Amiron Wireless, we got some kind of transcendental quality in every respect. Not without reason, some reviews begin with a warning that after Amiron Wireless, your everyday headphones will seem grey and boring, like yesterday.

The quintessential Beyerdynamic signature sound

In terms of sound, this is the quintessence of Beyerdynamic headphones: the sound is hi-fi on the one hand (V-shaped curve with an emphasis on bottom and top), but at the same time it is honest and reliable, 100% studio quality. Bayer has always been pleased with good detail, but the new Tesla drivers have some transcendent rendering and detail of the scene: in high-quality recordings, you not only hear some new details, but you can determine where they sound with an accuracy of half a metre. And this applies not only to the main instruments, but also to the barely noticeable little things that add charm to the record. The model is quite universal, but still they prefer more complex and multi-instrumental music without "meat". The downside is that you need a really high-quality sound source, with a conditional FiiO X5 II player and an Audio-Technica AT-PHA100 caliber amplifier, they will play much more interesting than with a regular smartphone.

Up to 30 hours of music on a single charge

And this brings us to an unusual positioning: the headphones seem to be designed to work with portable equipment, but are not designed for the street. One reason is the aforementioned dislike for smartphones. The second is the lack of active noise cancellation, which you expect from headphones for 800 euros. But instead, there is a rather sophisticated mobile application that, with the help of several sound tests, helps to adjust the sound based on the characteristics of the user's hearing. And it really works. In terms of design, everything is unexpectedly modest and restrained, except for the bow, which is covered with a nice and pleasant to the touch faux suede. Large fabric ear cushions and a wide headband make them almost never get tired, even if you wear them for 2-3 hours. The quality of workmanship and materials is consistent with high-end headphones.

In general, if you need truly audiophile wireless headphones, then you can hardly find something better. If active outdoor wear is meant, then we would look towards the flagship Dali IO-6 or the more affordable and versatile Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT.
