Since its inception in 2013, Apple's Air tablet lineup has had pretty much the same look. Its appearance was radically redesigned in 2020, when the Air 4 model was released into the arena.

By reducing the bezels and removing the Home button from the front panel, the tablet now looks more like the Apple iPad Pro 11. The model is assembled in a body that is only 6.1 mm thick, weighs 458 g and has a fingerprint sensor in the side power button. The display of the tablet has been increased to 10.9". The substrate for it is still the Liquid Retina IPS-matrix, which recognizes pressing the Apple Pencil 2 stylus. The screen supports True Tone technology — automatic adaptation of brightness, contrast and colour temperature to ambient lighting conditions. In addition to working with a pen, the tablet boasts support for the Apple Magic Keyboard and Apple Smart Keyboard Folio.
