One of the affordable high power (700 W) branded computer power supplies with decent energy efficiency, active PFC module, low noise level and traditional fixed cable subsystem. Complies with the ATX 12V v2.3 standard and can be easily installed in any ATX case. It is the senior model in the Chieftec ECO line, consisting of 3 blocks with a rated power of 500, 600 and 700 W. It is positioned as an affordable product of the middle price category, focused on use as part of mid-range gaming systems.

It can become a source of energy for the operation of inexpensive workstations (including those equipped with professional graphics accelerators). The basis of the Chieftec ECO GPE-700S unit is a reliable hardware platform with time-tested circuitry that is capable of providing 90% of the nameplate power on the + 12V line (current up to 52.5 A). The unit is not 80 Plus certified, but at 50% load it is about 85% efficient, which is the base 80 Plus White certification. The cable subsystem includes an ATX 24-pin (20+4) cable, an EPS/ATX12V 8-pin (4+4) line, a 2xPCI-E 8-pin (6+2) line for video cards, and a pair of ″garlands″ with connectors 3xSATA+MOLEX (4-pin). The block provides high stability of output voltages, low ripple and does not give high-frequency noise.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Chieftec ECO ECO series offers a range of power supply units that are praised for their quiet operation, active PFC, and high efficiency. Users appreciate the budget-friendly nature of these units, particularly highlighting the 500W and 700W models. The 500W version is noted for handling low-power configurations well, with potential to support a graphics card. The 700W model delivers stable power with minimal voltage deviation and ripple, making it a reliable choice even for demanding tasks like mining. However, some users mention a strong chemical smell initially and a short processor wire as minor drawbacks. Overall, the Chieftec ECO series is considered a solid and affordable option for those seeking a dependable power supply.

Cons

High-quality budget power supply from Chieftec.

A good budget power supply from Chieftec.
Power (630W on 12V) delivered, delivered it efficiently: voltage deviation on 12V did not exceed 5%, ripple is within the norm. See the graph.
A solid budget power supply from Chieftec.

P.S. A miner friend actively uses these units, which apparently speaks of reliability.

For your money, a normal solution. I don't regret the purchase.

Works stably, good price.
Price, stability
The first few hours smell strongly of chemicals. A short wire for connecting the processor (had to be pulled between the case wall and the motherboard)

good model, liked it

Took the 500w version for a low-power configuration. At the moment, just a Pentium g4560 and everything else without a graphics card. I think it will handle a graphics card without any problems too. If it's refined to last long, the cost will end up being that of a decent power supply.
Quiet, active PFC, high efficiency
Requires improvement to extend lifespan
