Model overview based on user reviews
The Chieftec A-90 series, including models like the GDP-550C and GDP-750C, is generally well-regarded for its 80+ Gold certification, semi-modular design, and reliable power delivery. Users appreciate the quiet operation and secure cable connections, with cables being long enough for neat arrangement. However, there are consistent complaints about the stock fan's noise, with some recommending an immediate replacement for a quieter experience. The PSU is praised for its robust build quality and comprehensive protection features like Over Voltage Protection and Short Circuit Protection. While some users experienced issues like burnout after extended use, others found it to be a great value for money, maintaining performance even during power fluctuations. Overall, the Chieftec A-90 series is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable PSU, though potential buyers might consider upgrading the fan for optimal performance.

great model, love it

As for me, this unit is just awesome! I didn't even think it was this good! Sometimes there are voltage spikes at home, everything shuts down, all the TVs turn off, even the router restarts, but the computer keeps running!

I'll say no!
It can be seen that the budget was spent on good stuffing, and not on design and dust in the eyes.

I will compare it with my previous PSU from the Gamemax GE series. It's clear that Gamemax is much lower in price and quality, but still, you need something to compare it with. And comparing with something you haven't had hands-on experience with is foolish, wouldn't you agree?
The internals of the PSU: Gamemax is not a competitor in terms of components here at all. And I'm not much of an expert in all these transistors, transformers, and resistors. So, I'll just comment on the previous one's usage.
The Chinese-made Gamemax fully lived through its warranty period, which is really good, but towards the end, the PSU completely lost its efficiency certification and barely output 300W of the claimed 500W (400W on the 12V line).
~~damn, this is turning into a Gamemax review :D ~~
The Chieftec, on the other hand, is much more powerful at 750W (744W (!!!) on the 12V line), has a higher-ranking efficiency certification, and judging by online reviews, promises to maintain all this until the end of the warranty period and even beyond. (Of course, I saw a review where one buyer's fan started rattling after 1.5 years, but it seems that this is a unique case for that particular model.)
A large number of protections. Semi-modular. Quiet. Good value for money. Easily delivers the stated power.
Fan with a sleeve instead of a bearing.
The wire wrapping feels like it’s been remelted from plastic bottles and is unpleasant to the touch.
Stiff wires, difficult to manage with cable management.
The very hard plastic of the power connectors gives the impression that it could snap off from impact or careless use.

do not take this model - if you need silence

If you really want this PSU, then buy a cooler for it in advance. Because the noise will definitely appear. It’s better to add a bit more and buy another model/brand with a NORMAL cooler. Even if you "service" this stock cooler, it will still be noisy.
Everything is good, but not about the cooler
HORRIBLE COOLER. How could such a cooler be installed? At the time of 4/29/2020 - it does not cost 2000 UAH. Its price is from the strength of 1400. I bought it in 2019 for 1750
