The classic never changes

The design of Corsair's gaming keyboards has changed little over the years, so it's no surprise that the new K70 RGB MK.2 model stands out from its brethren with just a couple of cosmetic changes. Externally, it is the same massive plate made of a single piece of aluminium, on which mechanical keys with red switches are strung. The resulting "skeleton" feels monolithic, pleasing to the eye and easy to clean if necessary. Unfortunately, water protection is not provided. But there is a rather comfortable removable arm rest with a soft-touch coating.

RGB lighting with memory effect

In terms of format, it gives exactly what you expect from a good gaming keyboard: a classic shape, a standard layout of blocks, comfortable matte keys with a recess for fingers and a small multimedia block. From the unusual, let's highlight the RGB backlight, which in the Corsair iCUE software can be customized as you like, then divided into several colour profiles and stored directly in the keyboard's memory. Also included with the Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 are eight removable keys with an interesting texture that is easy to feel when typing blindly. There is also an additional USB port for connecting a mouse, flash drive or gaming headphones.

Practical standard

In general, the Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Rapidfire looks almost like a reference example of universal “mechanics”: the switches are equally convenient for both games and high-speed typing, and the keyboard itself combines high quality, reliability, ergonomics and beautiful design. At the same time, it has no significant drawbacks, you can find fault with a couple of little things like a rattling gap stabilizer and a low maximum backlight brightness level. But after a couple of days of use, you stop paying attention to these moments.
