The Special Edition version differs from the usual one by the presence of a carrying case and a metal case.

In 2020, Corsair's lineup of wireless gaming headsets has been expanded with a new premium Virtuoso series. Under these flags, the company's engineers have brought together all their advanced developments in the production of gaming headsets, in fact, making one of the best models of recent years. The headset is based on a pair of 50 mm neodymium drivers with an unusually wide frequency spectrum (20 Hz - 40 kHz) for such devices.

According to the manufacturer, each speaker was coordinated with each other at the stage of factory testing, so the Virtuoso headset is capable of accurately and realistically reproducing any sounds - from the rustle of the wind and the creaking of floorboards to the roar of a dragon and aircraft explosions. Corsair Virtuoso can be connected to a PC or console using a USB radio module, a regular 3.5mm minijack, or using a USB A adapter.

In the first case, the proprietary Slipstream Wireless technology is used, which has proven itself in other headsets from the company. It can transmit a signal up to 18 meters and maintains a high signal level using the Intelligent Frequency Shift Keying (IFS) method. For speech transmission, the headset has a high-quality detachable microphone on a flexible shaft. Plus, the Corsair Virtuoso has an auto-off feature that, using the built-in accelerometer, turns off the headphones when idle and automatically turns them on as soon as the user picks up the device. And the Corsair Virtuoso turned out to be damn comfortable, sturdy and stylish, which is why they beg to be compared not so much with traditional gaming headsets as with premium on-ear headphones from conditional B&W.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Corsair Virtuoso headphones are praised for their excellent build quality, featuring metal parts that contribute to a durable and premium feel. Users appreciate the microphone quality, although some note it doesn't significantly outperform other models. The headphones offer both wired and wireless connections, but users report issues with the ICUE software, which is necessary for settings but often crashes and lacks a percentage battery display. The sound quality receives mixed reviews; while some find it high-quality and adjustable, others criticize it as underwhelming, especially for the price, with complaints about lack of bass and ineffective 7.1 surround sound. Comfort is another concern, as the ear cushions and headband can cause discomfort during extended use. Despite these issues, the headphones are noted for their long battery life and ability to function while charging. Overall, the Corsair Virtuoso may appeal to those who prioritize build quality and microphone performance, but may not satisfy audiophiles or those seeking exceptional sound quality.

For 15 thousand norms, higher - no
20 November 2021
I purchased this headset on September 7, 2021, for 15,980 (700 Rubles delivery from St. Petersburg) – Total 16,680 Rubles (Color – Espresso), primarily for gaming, music – preferably bass-heavy (Uamee, Starslav), and some pop music. To fully utilize the headset, you need to download the ICUE app, where you can check the headset's charge, change the lighting, sleep mode, or microphone light (Red – off, green – active), and adjust the equalizer (There are 5 presets: Pure Direct (Standard, where everything is balanced), Movie Theater (For movies and YouTube videos occasionally, and non-competitive games), FPS Competition (Mainly for shooters), Clear Chat (For Zoom or casual meetings on Discord without games), Bass Boost (I only listen to music with this). I haven't tried it with a phone or the PlayStation family, but I did try it on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X, sound only through 3.5 mm in the gamepad, fortunately, on the console, you can enable Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, so the headphones don't complain here.
Weight with microphone - 394 grams
Weight without microphone - 378 grams
* Compatibility of Virtuoso microphones
* Build quality, nothing creaks, the volume wheel is metallic and ribbed, as are the cables Type-C – Type A; 3.5 mm – 3.5 mm, The adapter part is also ribbed for easy removal
* Wired and Wireless connection (But there can be some issues)
* Equalizer, not perfect like Dolby Access for example
* Microphone of quite good quality (Without noise cancellation, you can calmly hear what's happening within a radius of about 5-7 meters)
* Battery lasts for a day to a day and a half, full charge takes about 3-4 hours (When the battery is charged, the speakers say "Charge Complete")
* Connectors Type-C, 3.5 mm, Mini-USB (For microphone)
* The forever sluggish ICUE app: Sometimes it crashes and you can't see your headset, other times it updates and just leaves a transparent window in front of you.
* Wired connection: The box states that it works wirelessly (8 Channel, 24 bit, 48000 Hz) and wired (8 Channel, 24 bit, but 96000 Hz). There are constant issues with this; when I plug in the wire and switch modes on the headset, the PC recognizes it, but Windows 10 blocks the audio at 8 channels, 24 bit, and 48000 Hz, requiring a PC reboot—and often more than once.
* It's impossible to use 7.1 sound alongside Dolby Atmos for Headphones or DTS:X; spatial sound has to be turned off, and everything has to be configured in the ICUE app, which is frustrating.
* The lighting drains about 2-3 hours of battery life. Whether you need it or not is up to you, but it's very dim, visible slightly on white or blue colors at maximum brightness.
* Earpads press directly against the drivers; you can adjust slightly with the headband, but it doesn't solve the problem. After about 5-6 hours, your ears start to hurt. You need to take a break for a few minutes to let your ears rest.
* The app displays the charge level not in percentages (High, Medium, Low, Critical), although in the HS 70 Pro, it is displayed in percentages. But this model is much cheaper than the Virtuoso.
* Short range compared to the RIG 800 LX (My previous headset – 8-13 meters), only reaching about 4-7 meters.

Not ideal headphones, but strong body and high-quality sound
3 July 2021
My attention was drawn to them due to their solid metal build, as I had been using Logitech G933 for 4 years until their first and last fall, which were all plastic (

Most reviews mainly deterred me with their poor sound quality, but after a slight equalizer adjustment to suit my tastes, I realized the criticism was unfounded!

- You can hear all the flaws in lower quality tracks (like those from VK), which might be considered a "bad sound" criterion for some
- Due to the dense soundproofing ear pads, you can hear your heartbeat in silence
- Very high-quality sound and the ability to adjust the sound according to any needs
- The microphone sound is much better without software processing than in other headphones (SE version)
- They can operate simultaneously while charging
- High-quality materials and tight hinges minimize body creaks
- Narrow headband, causes discomfort due to the considerable weight of the headphones, especially if you have a short haircut, it can even chafe a bald scalp
- Low ear pads, the casing presses on the ears causing discomfort, but the design allows for DIY padding to increase their height, as seen in the photo
- When turning on/switching (wired/wireless) for 3-4 seconds the volume is set to approximately 50%, then returns to the previous setting
- Settings made in the ICUE program are not saved on the device (the software is useless, but necessary to keep for the settings)

I do not recommend buying unless you are a Corsair fan, they are not worth the money.
21 August 2020
The headphones are promoted by foreign bloggers, although in fact they are not such. Now I use hyperx cloud flight s and g533 logitech - I think the Corsairs are the worst of all these headsets.
Among the pros, we can note the good build quality; nothing creaks, there are metal parts, which will contribute to a long lifespan. Overall, they look very beautiful and expensive. Liked the microphone quality, but the guys on Discord didn't particularly notice a difference compared to the previous headphones (Logitech G533).
The cons in my opinion are quite significant: The ear cushions are very small, my ears do not fit completely, which is terribly uncomfortable, after each game session I either want to take them off or somehow adjust them. In wireless mode, there are frequent crackles and sound distortions when shooting weapons. I rarely listen to music, but it seems like there is a lack of bass. The sound in games is nothing special, positioning and footstep sounds are just normal, nothing more. There’s no "wow" effect from their sound. I would want that for the price they cost. The iCUE software allows you to adjust the equalizer, lighting, update the firmware, but you can't view the battery charge (at the time of writing this review) in percentage. I did not like the 7.1 mode.
