The Crucial T700 is the flagship SSD with the latest PCIe 5.0 interface. The read speed for the 1TB version is an impressive 11700MB/s, while the write speed reaches 9500MB/s. The 2TB variant delivers even faster speeds of up to 12400MB/s. This is one and a half to two times faster than a PCIe 4.0 SSD. This impressive performance is achieved by using the Phison E26 controller and Micron 3D TLC flash memory with 232 layers.
Choice with or without heatsink
Also, to provide more efficient cooling, the drive is equipped with a separate operational buffer, which uses two LP-DDR4 chips in an accelerated dual-channel 16+16 bit mode. It is important to note that almost all PCIe 5.0 SSDs get very hot under heavy load. In this regard, the Crucial T700 is offered in two versions: with a large finned radiator and without it.
Data protection
The second heatsinkless option is preferred for systems that already have a heatsink on the motherboard. In addition, support for DirectStorage and TCG Opal technologies should be highlighted. DirectStorage allows the graphics card to directly access the data on the drive, speeding up game launches and loading levels. TCG Opal technology is responsible for hardware-based encryption of user data using the secure AES-256 algorithm.
