Branded ear pads (the sound with them is frankly bad); Sometimes there are disconnections

Great headphones with fully open sound settings.
I've been using them for two years. Initially, they came with the new (at the time) FiiO brand earpads, and with those, the sound was at its worst: almost no bass, the midrange was lacking, and the upper mids were absurdly high, making female vocals and high-frequency instruments sharp and grating. But there are also "Balanced" earpads included. With those, the headphones sounded as they should. I listened for a long time on the standard profile with aptX + LDAC codecs, but then I decided to experiment: I played around with the equalizer, adjusted the sound to the Etymotic target curve (not by ear, but according to FiiO's official data in .csv format from their website) — and got a real powerhouse. The detail is just out of this world, the bass is finally truly neutral and controlled, and the technicality is top-notch. Although the stock sound isn't bad at all, personally, the Harman target doesn't appeal to me. Overall, I highly recommend them. If you plan to listen without an equalizer, it's better to buy TRI Clarion earpads right away — with those, everything sounds much more pleasant "out of the box."
Fully open sound settings (10-band parametric equalizer + official CSV measurement files); Very cool appearance; Incredibly low latency but only on standard aptX.
